In series with the Bali Arts Festival (BAF) 2023, there is one agenda denoting a kind of celebration for the painting artist community, namely he Bali Kandarupa (exhibition). Bali Kandarupa is the first colossal exhibition that combines classical and traditional art and their derivatives.
In line with the main theme of this year’s BAF, the Bali Kandarupa takes the sub-theme “Prabangkara Sagara Prasiddha (Citra Paripurna Samudra Mahottama—Flawless Image of Prime Ocean).” This kind of exhibition was held for the first time in 2021. It is based on the consideration that the existence of classical and traditional Balinese art is always dynamically growing along with new creativity based on inspiration from socio-cultural, agrarian and its classical images.
This exhibition will display two-dimensional works of art such as classical paintings, traditional Balinese paintings and prasi (pictures on palm leaves). Aside from such arts, there is also three-dimensional art in the form of statues and masks.
As in the 45th BAF this year, this exhibition will also take place from June 18 to July 16, 2023. However, this exhibition will be held simultaneously in three different locations, namely at the Kriya Building (Bali Art Center, on Jalan Nusa Indah, Denpasar) as well as the Neka Museum (Jalan Raya Sanggingan Campuhan, Kedewatan, Ubud and the Puri Lukisan Museum (Jalan Raya Ubud, Ubud).
So, for fans, art connoisseurs or the artists themselves, here is a moment of celebration of works of art that will last for virtually a month. so, do not miss this opportunity!
