Buda Kliwon Gumbreg (October 15th) was a special and meaningful moment. Exactly 14 years have passed since Villa Kayu Raja grew and developed, overcoming various dynamics and challenges, to become what it is today—known, appreciated, and playing an active role in Bali’s tourism industry.
From a once-unknown villa, Villa Kayu Raja has now become a vital part of the tourism ecosystem. It proudly contributes to various organizations such as the Bali Villa Association, PHRI (Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association), IHGMA (Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association), THK Community, Lebah Sari Community, and others. In addition, he also participated in the development of villa regulations, actively participated in the THK Awards, winning Gold and Platinum awards, and was trusted as an educational and internship center for the next generation of tourism professionals.
“With great gratitude, we also hold the title of “Best Villa in Bali,” an achievement that is inseparable from the hard work, smart work, and dedication of the entire team,” said VKR General Manager, I Gede Ricky Sukarta.
As the General Manager who has been with the villas since the beginning—from setup and training to growing together for 14.5 years—he would like to express his deepest gratitude to the entire team, owner, and all stakeholders who have been part of this extraordinary journey.
He also recalled that the journey to this point has not always been smooth. Together with his team, he has overcome difficult times, from natural disasters to the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, thanks to their resilience and spirit of togetherness, they have remained resilient and even continued to be at the forefront.
“I realize that in this long journey, there have certainly been shortcomings and imperfections. For that, I sincerely apologize. But more than that, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the dedication, loyalty, and extraordinary spirit of the entire team,” he expressed to the entire team.
Finally, he encouraged all team members to keep moving forward, maintain their enthusiasm, and continue contributing to sustainable tourism in Bali. He also continued to encourage his team with pride and gratitude, wishing them “A Happy Birthday!!!” (VKR/ed)
