THE 95th Youth Pledge Day celebration falling on October 28, 2023 was a very special moment for Villa Kayu Raja (VKR) because it also celebrated its 12th anniversary with The Evitel Resort Ubud for its 8th anniversary.
Raising Flag Ceremony
The celebration was marked with a visit to the Pasraman Guru Kula Bangli. On that day, the pasraman atmosphere in the cold town was different because the Youth Pledge Day celebration was filled with the main event in the form of a flag raising ceremony led by a tourism practitioner, namely the General Manager of Villa Kayu Raja and The Evitel Resort Ubud, Gede Ricky Sukarta.
Related to the celebration of the anniversary of both properties, according to Gede Ricky Sukarta, his party deliberately chose the moment because he wanted to maintain friendship, share happiness, entertain children and build togetherness through the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day which is full of national spirit in combination with social concern.
Ceremony participants consisted of students from elementary school to high school as well as teachers, local employees and teams from VKR and The Evitel Resort Ubud. Everyone followed the ceremony solemnly. The respect for the flag and the national anthem sung then reminded us of the determination of Indonesian youth who have united in the spirit of unity and nationalism.
After that, it continued with a relaxing event in the form of a traditional children’s game, namely Meong-Meong (Cat Hunts for Mouse). One elementary school student acted as a cat and another as a mouse, while the others formed a circle. Then, the cat ran around chasing the mouse until it went out and entered the circle. Additionally, there was a quiz event for children with material on the Youth Pledge and national insight.
VKR and Evitel Resort Ubud are also committed to helping Pasraman Guru Kula Bangli through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds in the form of providing basic necessities, snacks and cash. The activity is a real form of VKR and The Evitel Resort Ubud’s concern for the surrounding community, remembering how important sharing is in maintaining national unity and integrity.
To conclude the celebration, all participants gathered for lunch together. This luncheon was the perfect moment to strengthen togetherness and share stories.
Blood Donation
In conjunction with the anniversary celebration, the properties also held a social action in the form of blood donation which at The Evitel Resort Ubud on October 30. It is a very meaningful way to celebrate life, while making a positive contribution to the surrounding community. Participants took turns donating their blood, realizing that this small act can save the life of someone in need. The activity succeeded in collecting 25 bags of blood from donors.
This year’s anniversary celebration for Villa Kayu Raja and The Evitel Resort Ubud is not just an ordinary party, but also a celebration that combines the spirit of nationality, social awareness and togetherness. Moments such as the flag rising ceremony, blood donation, handing over of basic food aid, playing games together, and having lunch together create lasting experiences and remind us of the importance of uniting, helping others, and celebrating happiness together. Hopefully, this spirit will continue to be maintained and become an inspiration for many people to make positive contributions to society and the country.
