CURRENTLY, the Bali Provincial Government is intensively preparing various measures and everything related to the opening of the Bali tourism sector next July.
As quoted from the website of Bali Provincial Government, since the past two months, the number of Covid-19 cases in Bali Province has shown a good start, marked with a decline categorized to be sloping. The number of recovered Covid-19 patients higher than those infected was appreciated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. As of June 11, there were 423 cases of Covid-19 still being treated or 0.89 percent.
Of course, this number is a good indication for the opening of the arrival gate for foreign tourists. According to the direction of the President Joko Widodo, the plan to open foreign tourism in Bali next July depends very much on the level of cases and conditions in Bali.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, in an interview shortly after attending a coordination meeting to prepare for the opening of Bali tourism at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic, Badung, Friday (Jun 11).
The coordination meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of Bali, Prof. Tjok. Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati; Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Putu Astawa; and relevant stakeholders. Deputy Governor Cok Ace stated that his party (in this case the government, tourism players and the community) is always ready to implement health protocols.
Most Balinese people are aware of the dangers of the Corona virus that, if not handled quickly, will cause lives to be lost in vain. In addition, public awareness in implementing strict and disciplined health protocols has shown a decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases.
Central government and local governments continuously prepare Bali as an icon of Indonesian tourism so that they can have the right preconditions in the near future to open themselves up to foreign tourism. Preconditions include controlling Covid-19 cases through the implementation of strict health protocols and mass vaccinations as well as the preparation of a “travel corridor arrangement.”
The coordination meeting is the beginning of the final stage of preparation for the opening of Bali tourism that will then be followed by a review of the three green zones which include Sanur, Ubud and Nusa Dua. In this case, Nusa Dua is given more priority because it is the entrance for tourist arrivals.
The grand design for the management of priority zones and safe routes in Bali will of course be reviewed into consideration for characteristics and activities in Bali which aims to produce technically recommended outputs starting with Work from Bali activities.
Visitors that come to Indonesia, including Bali, are tourists, whether they have been vaccinated or not. When they enter the arrival gate of Ngurah Rai Airport, they are required to follow the SOP applied at the airport, namely (1) performing PCR, (2) setting check points, (3) strengthening procedures for tightening (if there are employees without masks), then giving stronger sanctions to institutions that violate not to individuals. As the front line when tourists get off the plane is the Port Health Office (KKP) starting from filling out the registration documents to personal protection so that all documents can be known immediately.
After the KKP received the administrative documents, they will undergo a temperature check (below 37.3 further swab), proceed to immigration for administrative requirements, collect their baggage and head to customs to collect the goods. After that, then tourists go out to the airport door and be picked up by a taxi that has complied with CHSE.
Tourists who already have a vaccination certificate are allowed to do activities in the hotel (such as swimming pool and eat at the hotel restaurant) after 6 hours getting a swab test for five (5) days of quarantine. Meanwhile, tourists who have not been vaccinated must be quarantined for five (5) days in a designated hotel room.
Then, tourists whose swab test results are positive (+), they will be referred to a referral hospital. However, if the results are negative (-), they will be allowed to go out to travel and vacation in Bali.
