DENPASAR City Heritage Area seems to have endless attractions to see. So do not miss them when taking a Denpasar City Tour or Morning Market. One of them is the Kumbasari Garden. So, make your time to visit the Badung Riverside. It is located between the Badung Market and Kumbasari Market.
Local government has conjured up the Badung Riverside into a Kumbasari Garden. So, when stopping by here to shop, you can have a look at a number of artworks showcased on the wall at riverside. It is like ‘a riverside gallery.’
Through some steps down to the riverside, you can reach the beautiful garden at the clean riverside. It has been equipped with some terraces at both west and east riverside where you can unwind with family or friends while enjoying the surround atmosphere.
Arrangement of the riverside garden presents classic paintings with the theme of the old Balinese market atmosphere which is relevant to the activities in the both market. Well, perhaps this monochromatic painting is the most wonderful. This painting is displayed on the west side near the Jalan Gajah Mada Bridge.
Similarly, there are a Balinese typical carving on white stone depicting the activities of traditional farmers, a mural painting as well as the icon of Denpasar City in the form of Baris or Warrior Dance.
This garden stretches between Badung Market on the east side and Kumbasari Market on the west side. Then, both markets are connected by a bridge which makes it easier for visitors to access them. While under the bridge itself, there is also a pontoon bridge for garden visitors. Of course, you will get a unique sensation when crossing as slightly swaying due to the pressure of the floating bridge on the water.
With such arrangement, the riverbanks around the Denpasar City are no longer rundown and muddy or overgrown with weeds or driftwood beds. However, both sides have been arranged nicely with concrete floors and natural stone. It can become an alternative garden to be visited.
Besides, both sides are also equipped by stairs going up from the riverside, where there are ordinary stairs of tiles and circular stairs of iron. Several long benches and chairs are also provided for visitors who want to relax.
