The Herbal Master
As the name suggests, Taman Usada literally means the Garden of Healing, this garden collects hundreds of medicinal plants inspired by the Taru Pramana classical Balinese script or palm-leaf manuscript written by Mpu Kuturan. It is said that when Mpu Kuturan meditated one by one the plants came to him and told the properties, efficacy and medicinal benefits of each part of the plants.
In one side of this herbal garden, there is a statue of Mpu Kuturan positioned right in the middle of a circle of green grass that can also be used as a venue for yoga activities. Well, this location is unique because it is surrounded by a maze of various herbal plants. Don’t worry about the names of the plants in this garden, they all come with labels.
Spa Outlet
Taman Usada Bali is also equipped with body treatments through a spa handled by well experienced therapists. Location of the treatment room is behind the garden and it features two rooms, where each contains one bed. All the treatments on offer is ready to refresh your body after walking around, enjoying and exploring the beauty and richness of this herbal garden.
The presence of this spa outlet seems to bridge the nobility of past traditions and modern lifestyles. By that way, the millennial generation is not awkward about using boreh which has medicinal properties because it is considered ancient. Having been conjured up with the word ‘spa’, the archaic vocabulary ‘boreh’ seems to get its new and strong ‘power’ with the image of modernity.
