ASIDE from Tanah Lot, Tabanan still has a series of black sandy beaches in the west that are no less interesting to visit. Once upon a time, make your time to come by to Yeh Gangga Beach.
This tranquil beach of Tabanan may sound a little strange to some tourists visiting Bali. This beach located at Sudimara Village, Tabanan District, can be an alternative or additional destinations to other beaches you have already explored.
This beach destination in Tabanan is about 9 km west of Tanah Lot and about 31 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport. By the way, what uniqueness does Yeh Gangga Beach have to offer?
Quiet beach
The serene and peaceful Yeh Gangga Beach is suitable for relaxing because it is far from all the hustles and bustles of humans. On that account, your mind will get refreshed and rid of boredom.
Ritual venue
This beach is a destination for various Hindu ceremonies such as melukat (purificatory rite) for individual, holy bathing on Banyu Pinaruh Day (the day after Saraswati Day), melasti and releasing cremated ashes after the Ngaben ceremony.
Fishing base
A number of fishermen’s traditional boats under the auspices of the group are parked on this beach. Not surprisingly, when you visit the beach you will find rows of colorful fishing boats. In addition to various types of favorite fish, the fishermen in Yeh Gangga are famous for their lobster catch captured by using eco-friendly fishing gear.
Batubolong Temple
Even more uniquely, on top of a rock boulder there is a temple, namely the Batubolong Temple. Then, the rock under the temple is perforated. On a sunny afternoon, if you happen to be here, you can see the beautiful view of this temple with a spectacular sunset background.
Tourist facilities
Because of the serenity of the beach combined with its natural beauty, this area has also been supported by the existence of five-star hotels. Simlarly, there is a beach club and food stalls operated by local residents.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic broke, many tourists enjoyed the beauty of this beach area while riding a horse or ATV. Apart from being able to enjoy new adventures, tourists can also see up close the nature of the countryside and its culture as well as the expanse of active lovely rice fields.
