Amidst his busy activities as Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace), had the opportunity to dance the Sidakarya Mask in the Maligia ritual of Ida Pedanda Nabe Gede Dwija Ngenjung.
The ceremonial procession carried out by Griya Jero Gede and Griya Gede Keniten Sanur was centered at Bale Peyadnyan in the Matahari Terbit Beach area, Sanur, Denpasar, on Tuesday (April 4) coincided with Anggara (Tuesday) Kliwon Perangbakat.
The figure of the Deputy Governor, familiarly addressed as Cok Ace, is indeed known as a dancer who never forgets the obligations of traditional and cultural traditions by carrying out devotional work (Balinese: ngaturang ayah) to dance masks. Especially in its meaning and philosophy, the sacred dance ‘Sidakarya Mask’ is interpreted as a symbol of expelling bhutakala (evil spirits) so as not to interfere with the implementation of rituals or nyomya bhuta kala so that it can help smooth the implementation of yadnya.
Dalem Sidakarya Mask also has the meaning of achieving goals or completing the ritual work. The Sidakarya Mask is a symbol that the ritual being held has been completed properly.
Besides, the Dalem Sidakarya Mask dance is also known as one of the sacred dances that must be danced at every religious ceremony.
Procession of Bhatara Turun ke Peselang procession taking place on that occasion was officiated over by Ida Pedanda Gede Putra Telaga from Griya Telaga Sanur and Ida Pedanda Gede Jelantik Giri from Griya Gunung Sari Ubud.
